May: Plant Sale

  • Thursday, May 15: 9 AM – 4 PM

​Our annual Plant Sale is a community favorite, offering a variety of beautiful plants and flowers perfect for your garden. It’s a great opportunity to support the Historical Society while adding fresh greenery to your home!


 

June: Ice Cream Social

Sunday, June 22nd, 2025 from 12pm to 3pm 

​

Join us for our annual Ice Cream Social, a free community event filled with music, history, and fun! This year, enjoy tunes from DJ Wyatt Herrmann from noon to 1:30 PM and a performance by Ukulele Express from 1:30 PM to 3 PM. Stroll through our beautiful grounds, explore a little piece of history, and savor the joy of summer with friends and family. Don’t miss this delightful day of entertainment and connection!

 

October: Spirits of Yesteryear

Saturday, October 25th from 6pm to 9pm

Step back in time and experience the hauntingly beautiful Spirits of Yesteryear event, held on the last weekend of October. Explore the grounds of the Stephenson County Historical Society as history comes to life through ghostly tales and immersive storytelling. From Victorian spirits to Civil War-era figures, this event blends historical education with spine-tingling fun. Perfect for history buffs, paranormal enthusiasts, and families looking for a unique autumn outing, the Spirits of Yesteryear offers a glimpse into the past like no other.

 

November: Craft and Gift Sale 

 

the Friday, Saturday, Sunday before Thanksgiving

 

Get into the holiday spirit at our annual Craft and Gift Sale! Held every November, this event is the perfect place to find unique, locally made gifts and treasures for everyone on your list. From handcrafted goods to one-of-a-kind creations, the sale highlights the talent and creativity of our community artisans. Join us for a festive shopping experience and support local makers while helping the Historical Society preserve and share history.
