Special Viewing of "The Songs of the Century"
Wednesday, September 20
4:30 PM – 7:30 PM
Free Admission
Charissa Taylor spent 28 years creating this extraordinary illuminated manuscript, featuring songs and poems from every century beginning with the first. While the book is normally kept under glass, at this event, pages will be turned and shared aloud. Guests will also hear the story behind how this unique work came to be.
Music at the Taylor Home
Wednesday, October 15
4:30 PM – 7:30 PM
Free Admission
Step into the Taylor Home for a special evening celebrating historic pianos. On exhibit are three rare instruments: a piano forte from around 1800, a Burdett upright from the early 1900s, and a square grand piano popular during the Civil War era. SCHS member Gwynn French will serve as guest musician, playing selections on each piano throughout the event.
These events are open to SCHS members and their invited guests. No additional mailings will be sent, so please save this information. For updates or changes, visit our Facebook page or contact us directly.
